Will current flow more easily through a thick wire or a thin wire of the same material, when connected to the same source? Why?
Answer
Resistance is inversely proportional to Area of cross-section.
A thin wire would have small area of cross section, hence more resistance.
Since the resistance is more, current would not flow easily.
A thick wire would have large area of cross section, hence less resistance.
Since the resistance is less, current would flow easily.
Hence, current would flow more easily in a thick wire.
